Past mid-summer update

Hello everyone.
I hope all are well and enjoying (as possible during this time) summer. I have no idea how many of you read these posts, but I would appreciate it if you would let me know if you do.

Here, at the end of August, we currently have 5,801 observations of 1,286 species. The numbers of course, slow down as time goes on because we see and document an increasing number of the 'low hanging fruit’, so to speak. What remains to be seen are the more difficult and increasingly rare species, or the vagrants, those species that just happen by here due to storms, or just accidentally. Some 327 people have observed what is noted in our project (The Landings/Skidaway Island, GA), and confirmed by 1,077 identifiers. Not too shabby.

I wish there were a way to send a message, through iNaturalist, to all project members at once. I inquired of the team that handles such things and, to my surprise, it consists of ONLY 4 people, 3 of whom know how to code. Too bad. Perhaps if you would all send me your email addresses, I could let you know of special sightings or prospective events, at the same time. I would appreciate it if you would do that.

Thanks very much for your participation. If you know of anyone who might enjoy contributing to our little project, please invite them to join. The more the better.
