What Level Bioblitzer are you?
This is a quick blog to try and rate the different levels of bioblitz enthusiasm we see from users during the GSB.
Of course, there are many reasons people participate and not everyone is chasing the leaderboards! This is hopefully a funny way to look at the different approaches, giving our respects to people who do give it their all for 4 days straight, and encouraging those who are new to the bioblitzin'.

Thanks @possumpete - I lacked the motivation. My local gov doesn't participate and I only got 153 species over the period and I think it was cold and wet... excuses :)
And people like me and the other active identifiers will come along behind you guys and do the necessary follow up. I encourage anyone who is serious about iNaturalist to contribute identifications as well as observations. You don't need to be an expert taxonomist; if you can identify even a few species, you can provide IDs for observations of those species.
That is a great point @jasonhernandez74 - and you have given me the idea that there should be the same thing for identification levels too - to credit the incredibly important work that the identifiers do for the GSB, and encourage others to increase their identification numbers also!
@reiner - there's always next year! I think we both need to bioblitz with @michaelcincotta - he got close to 800 species all from Vic!

@possumpete ok! I think that was the problem. I'm trying to see it in another language :)
novice on plants, insects, better at birds & mammals. Just trying to document the biodiversity in our catchment to help foster appreciation of our local wildlife to protect & conserve it for future generations. Record keeping is essential because sometimes you don't know what you've lost until it's gone . Plus I learn a little bit about insects like butterflies & lady beetles which I find in my garden.
