Nature Walk: September 20-27

I went for a walk today with my friend in the Newton woods, otherwise known as Edmands Park in Newton, Massachusetts. There are a bunch of trails in the park, including ones for walking, mostly dog-walkers, as well as ones for mountain biking. I walked around the backside of the park, near a neighborhood of Newton, walking along the marsh area within in the park. My friend and I saw lots of interesting plants but not a lot of animals because of the weather. It was drizzling when we set out on the walk, and by mid way through it was raining pretty steadily. Besides the rain, it was mild out, not too hot and not too cold. It was interesting to see how different the woods looked in the rain, as I have walked around the same area on sunny days. It was much quieter as birds were not chirping, and there were no squirrels rummaging around. Although the weather wasn't great, my friend and I still had an enjoyable walk in Edmands Park.
