Northern leopard Frog

Caught this little guy on a hot summer day in brewer park in the pond area furthest away from the river, in the center of the pond was a double crested cormorant. This was only a couple weeks after the development project that created the artificial island out of the previously swampy river path.

Double-crested Cormorant

like I said in my original post I will try and get a better picture of this cormorant, they've moved into the area recently and I see them just about every day in the pond and also up near the rapids along the left side of the Carleton campus. I often see them drying their wings on a rock or stump, this picture was taken on may 10th when it was real hot outside but ive also seen them during heavy rain and less extreme weather.

Crayfish corpse

This one was a little morbid its the front half of some kind of crayfish, considering it was pretty high on the bank its probably a corpse and not a shed exoskeleton found this on the opposite side of the shore as the Leopard frog right near the artificial island.
