Practice Journal!

Finn was on a school trip to Branbury State Park, and we took the opportunity to practice iNaturalist. We took a few pictures in the seemingly rich forest surrounding the campground and Sucker Creek.

Description

Not sure if this is green ash or white ash, or maybe something else! Seems like an ash sapling of some kind, seven leaflets per leaf on all visible leaves. Habitat seems more consistent with White Ash - growing alongside road in Branbury State Park campground.

Description

Stems roundish, leaves opposite. Not sure what this is, and didn't see a flower. Might be something quite common - I'm not really a botanist! Any help appreciated.

Found growing in campground at Branbury State Park.

I'm not a strong botanist, but I think this is Fragaria vesca based on Go Botany information and habitat. But maybe it's Fragaria virginiana or something else. Any corrections appreciated!

Seen near Falls of Lana at Branbury State Park, in cleared out area near hydroelectric tube.

Description

Spotted near the Falls of Lana at Branbury State Park. Just joined iNaturalist and practicing observations; not sure of the violet species, and may be hard to identify from the pitures.
