California Wild Radishes - where do these hybrids belong?
The California populations are very interbred, to the point it's unlikely we have any "pure" subspecies individuals any more - they all exhibit characteristics of both taxa. Here are the supporting studies:
- The Evolution of California’s Wild Radish has Resulted in the Extinction of its Progenitors (Jun 2006)
- A Reference Genome Assembly of Hybrid-Derived California Wild Radish (Raphanus sativus × raphanistrum) (Nov 2021)
- A Reference Genome Assembly of Hybrid-Derived California Wild Radish (Raphanus sativus × raphanistrum) (Mar 2022)
