This week I went back to Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve. Since it was so hot out, I stayed in the shaded section of the trail right at the beginning of the Blue Oak Trail. The trail begins at the bottom of a hill and then has a bunch of switch-backs up to the top; I observed my trees at the bottom of this hill where the land was flat and next to a creek (Cordilleras Creek). The park is made up of mostly perennials, evergreen trees, and oak woodlands; Riparian woodland plant community best fits this description.
