I am a plant systematist and I research species in the Ophioglossaceae (adders' tongue fern family). My current research focus is the genus Sceptridium (grapeferns), and I study the North American species using DNA techniques. I will be the first to admit that the grapeferns are a tough group of plants and that distinctions among species are often not easy or clear. I very much am still learning, particularly about the more rare species!
