Here is a record of the species found on our Trust for Nature protected property in South Gippsland. Tarwin River Forest works to protect and enhance this forest and to promote conservation and biodiversity protection through our work in the community. We have many important species here such as the long-nosed bandicoot, gang-gang cockatoo, slender tree ferns, platypus, strzelecki burrowing crayfish and the powerful owl. The forest is home to hundreds of plant, animal and fungi species that I am slowly learning about, identifying and recording as I pull weeds and deal with feral pests.

In 2020 we started the Tarwin River Forest project to help conserve the endangered ecosystems here. Info about this project can be found at www.tarwinriverforest.com.au. We are actively involved in supporting research and education and work closely with other local environment groups. Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about what we do.
