May 29, 2022 - Nocturnal Limited Species Survey

This survey was conducted by myself and Cooper Correa. The location was Copper’s private farm, located on Bray Road. It is an ideal location for a nocturnal survey. There are no artificial lights that can be seen. Our target species were moths and beetles, however we did pick up a few other interesting insects during our survey. Our night started with a visit from a mother Barn owl and her two chicks. Using UV lights, we were able to attract a substantial number of insects. There were numerous flies, roves, and Asian lady beetles that we did not record. There were also several hungry toads who took advantage of the insect banquet.
