Journal Entry #1

As I made my way around the woods surrounding the Chestnut Hill Reservoir, I found myself surrounded by life in all shapes, sizes, and forms. The Weather was a mild 70 degrees Fahrenheit and the breeze was perfect to combat the rays of the sun. On my journey, I first saw a family of chipmunks and I was able to snap a shot of one of the little critters before they all scurried away. Then as I made my way up some of the dirt trails I noticed a crazy looking fungi on the sides of a bunch of tress, poking out from the bases and lining all the way up the bark. It was slightly gross but also incredible to see life within life, again furthering this idea that life can truly live anywhere that it can sustain itself. Ultimately it was a great experience and I've realized how much more I need to be in nature and surround myself with the calmness and serenity that the environment offers.
