Second iNaturalist Nature Walk Journal

In this week's iNaturalist observation, I went to Waban Hill reservoir to observe species there. In total, it took me one hour to hiking and discover species. Weather today is a little bit rainy. On the way to the reservoir, I saw the black lichen on the stage besides road. When we arrived, I saw some plant species such as Pepper-weeds, and Chicory. Come back to this week's topic--Fungi, I saw some mushroom which are called Turkey-Tail and Purple-pore Bracket, I think these mushrooms can be classified as Fungi based on the knowledge I have now. Also, I saw some green lichen on the tree and took a photo for them. This is such a good journey to find fungi and explore a new pond!

Third iNaturalist--Plants

This week, me and my friends choose to walk from school to Hammond Pond to finish our iNaturalist work. This walk takes us 90 minutes in total. We saw multiple plant species: Oaks can be classified as Gymnosperms; common Toadflax, Maples, and Great Yellow Wood-sorrel can be seen as the Angiosperms; and power-tipped shadow Lichen as Bryophyta. Some of the plants survive in the rock crave, others rooted in soil. I was surprised by the diversity of plants. Something interesting is that many trees turned into various colors in fall. Roads became colorful with the decorations of the falling leaves. I enjoy this week's natural walk a lot!
