October 15 Bike Ride

Today I decided to go on a nice bike ride in my neighborhood. There was no cloud in the sky and the sun was shining. There was a nice breeze and the temperature was around 67-70°F. It was such a nice day to cycle around my neighborhood in search of some plants. While I was out, I saw many different plants, and even though I go through this route every time I go for a bike ride, I noticed many different plant species that I had never really seen before. Of course there are the pines and oaks, native to the New England region, but there were some other plants that I have never seen. There were two types of place species that looked like blueberries and I was really surprised at that. This nature walk showed my some different types of plants and was very enjoyable due to the great fall weather.

Oct 8 Nature walk behind High School

Today I decided to walk through the nature trail that's behind my high school. This trail is usually used for cross country practice but the trail is purely natural. Even as you're walking on the trail, you can see roots of trees poking about underneath you so you have to be careful to not to trip. This trail is also a very hilly type of trail, so you're constantly going up and down; great trail for some cardio. The weather was a bit chilly and the wind was blowing in my face. It felt like typical fall weather. When I would take a deep breath, I would get this wonderful smell of all the trees around me. I felt really calm. As I looked around, there is a lot of shrubbery around the trail, so it was kind of hard to find species of fungi but I did the best that I could. As I was trying to observe I heard some shuffling in the leaves and saw a small little frog staring at me. Sadly I couldn’t get a clear picture of it.

September 30, 2020

I took a bit of a nature walk in my neighborhood. Living in Ridgefield, CT there is always a lot of nature that goes around, so I decided to do a nature walk in my neighborhood since this is usual route I take for all of my walks. It was a nice, cool and breezy afternoon, the perfect weather for the start of autumn. Sadly, most of the trees I had seen had already started to shed their leaves so there wasn’t too much beauty to see of the autumnal trees. I would usually see some deer and squirrels walking and running about, but today all was quiet and not much animal life could be seen. However, the birds were chirping away, although I could only hear not see them.
