Pine Tree Reserve Walk on October 2, 2024

On Wednesday afternoon, I walked for about 30 minutes around the Pine Tree Reserve. The weather was slightly chilly when my friend and I began the walk, but became cooler as the sun set. I had never walked through the Pine Tree Reserve before, so it was a nice change of scenery and pace after a busy stretch. The sights and sounds of the reserve allowed me to see a side of the campus I hadn't experienced before. It was a a welcomed change to realize there was bigger picture beyond the stress of academics and extracurriculars. Being able to take a brief pause to appreciate the beauty of campus with a friend was a very nice way to spend an afternoon.

Chestnut Hill Reservoir Walk- October 6, 2024

On Sunday morning, I walked around the Chestnut Hill Reservoir for about an hour with my friend. The weather was lovely, with temperatures in the mid 60s and plenty of sunshine. We were able to find various types of fungi along our walk. I also included some of the interesting insects and animals we saw as well. Overall, it was a wonderful fall walk on a sunny Sunday morning!

Chestnut Hill Reservoir Walk- October 21, 2024

On Monday October 21st, I had a lovely walk around the Chestnut Hill Reservoir on a gorgeous fall afternoon for about 30 minutes. It was warmer than it had been over the past week, so the weather was a welcomed change. The sun was still shining and there was a nice little breeze that felt just right. For the first time, I walked by myself on one of these nature walks, and it was really nice to take my time. The trees were very colorful with bright reds, yellows, and oranges, and the reservoir looked beautiful under the sun. I was able to note the differences between the gymnosperms and angiosperms, which was a nice way to study for the upcoming exam on Thursday. Overall, it was a refreshing escape into nature, and I loved soaking it all in ahead of a very busy week!
