crossed the street with a nut in its mouth, then ran up the sidewalk and appeared to bury/hide the nut in the hellstrip

these were the only two I saw. Maybe the last of the scaups from the winter season? Late migrators?

something ate the blossoms of a lot of the jack-in-the-pulpits in this area. deer?
