A beautiful (4.5ft) coachwhip found underneath a slab of dolomite on the Missouri mini-deserts. I was surprised to see it play dead like an Eastern Hognose :] That definitely made my day!

Trey spotted this one at the bottom of a forest stream.
I have seen garter snakes in this location (near an old spring house) in Feb and March the last 4 years, but this is the first time in Jan.

Likely a Pickerel Frog....still not 100 percent it isn't N. Leopard. The back thighs seem to have a yellow cast but I couldn't see that until I looked at the photo.(possibly reflected light off the algae?)
Noticed this turkey alone along FM 2341.
