Same patch that’s been fruiting the last week, perfect ripeness. This patch was covered with woodchips last year, and these ones are fruiting at the layer between the old soil and wood chips, making it incredibly easy to find, very little digging necessary.

Rainbow Chanterelle (Cantharellus roseocanus)Observer

Trailside ditch with a heavily decomposed log forming the side of the ditch. 10-15 feet of this log was lined with these small chanterelles.
Surrounding area was mainly mid-age Doug fir, a few small hemlock, small cedar, lots of salal and huckleberry. Trail lined with a bit of moss on each side.
