A Mediator Is Brought In To Settle The Dispute
The mallard walked right thru the middle of the tension and paused a few moments while the 3 killdeer calmed down. Feathers were smoothed back into place and tails relaxed.

After Mediator Leaves, It's Back On!
The mallard left, feeling her job was done. But one minute later the argument and posturing was back on. I watched a couple of more minutes then left. There is no shade here, it is summer in Texas & I was overheating.
