Charriere de L'Eglise
Uploading illustrations is allowed, (https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/are-drawings-evidence/8595) and of course the one time I didn't bring my phone or camera, a cute little bird decides to sit in the tree, at eye level, less than 10ft away.
The stripes on the wings are probably not accurate, just to get the idea acrosss..they might have been horizontal but I already forgot. They were definitely not as dramatic as they look here.
It was a very small bird, and very skinny / sleek. Seemed to be the sameish size, or smaller, than the palm warblers I see.
Its main color was very light silver or grey, possibly tan, and I noticed immediately that it had pale yellow on its throat, and chest, and it seemed to continue onto its belly.
Its eyes were dark colored, which seems to have ruled out the white-eyed vireo, which I initially assumed it was before I looked a bit more.
It had some sort of stripe near it eye, possibly with white highlights to go with the darker stripe, but I'm not sure.
It was facing towards me, so I'm not sure what its tail looked like.
After a minute or two it flew up into the American sweetgum tree and out of sight.
