While hiking on the Santa Monica Mountain, the group came across a small "waterfall" that flows right beneath a small bridge marking what seemed to be the midpoint of the hike. Seeing as there wasn't much rain this past winter the "waterfall" was more like droplets of water that fell upon the creek that also resembled scattered puddles. In the creek we saw a groups of California Newts squirming around. One of the newts we observed in particular was approximately 5-6in in length. It was very small and had the infamous orange/yellow underbelly.
