Naturalised exotic Lupine in Victoria, Australia, growing on wet, presumed low quality engineered fill, in a saddle below a massive riprap reservoir embankment. Conditions are essentially an accidental, kangaroo-grazed sub-alpine meadow (although only about 130 m ASL).

Nominal ID as Lupinus nanus based on comments of North American contributors, L. bicolor also possible.

The short pedicels (< 3.5 mm), standard longer than wide, and the scentless flowers appear to suggest L. bicolor.

Leaflets adaxially glabrous or almost so.

Inflorescence at anthesis 20-35 mm long. When in fruit to 90 mm long.

Pedicel 1.8-2.5 mm long at anthesis.

Upper calyx lip 3.5-3.7 mm long. Lower calyx lip 4.2-4.5 mm long.

Standard 6 mm long x 4.3-4.7 mm wide.

Wings 5-5.2 mm long.

Keel 4.7-5.5 mm long. Keel ciliate along upper margin.

Bract 4.2-4.5 mm long.

Seeds up to 6 per pod.

Flowers not scented.
