Pale swallowwort
Fletcher Wildlife Garden
The first V. rossicum found at this Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust nature reserve (obscured location). It was uprooted, returned in 2012, uprooted again and not seen there since that time.
The invasive species has appeared at other spots on the property but wherever it is it has been uprooted and eradicated or, in the largest spot, kept from ever going to seed and spreading, and, as of last summer, almost eliminated. I keep the mindset, though, that it never really will be eradicated since it is growing on nearby properties and its seed remains viable for at least 20 years.
Habitat – limestone substrate, thin stony soil along the Lake Ontario shoreline.
Same location as https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/17582316 which is clearly Vincetoxicum rossicum
