Such beautiful birds
Red Squirrel cache. There are many piles just like this one at the park, all of which are situated at the bases of pine trees.
Recently, this ditch in Hefhill Park has been redeveloped for water management. A stream now runs through it, creating a small, marsh-like habitat. Apparently, the Mallards have found out about it. A pair of them crawled out of a nearby culvert and waddled through the tiny swamp. They stayed for a moment before flying away.
I found an egg on the ground in a swamp-like environment. This area is surrounded by trees and plenty of robins and blackbirds call this place home.
Perhaps one of them discarded this eggshell.
The best views of a Green Heron I've ever got! They're smaller than I expected.
It stayed by the side of the pond, waiting for fish to pass by. Eventually, the hungry bird got its wish, snatching a tiny fish out of the water and eating it.
A surprise Mallard at the park. The lone drake slept soundly in the field, once lifting his head to check his surroundings. With the coast clear, he drifted back off to sleep.
