Caught at approx. 3:00 pm near pioneer California.. it was approx. 95° f and was found under a large chunk of dead tree with moist underside.

Found on pine tree trunk at about 11:30am. Approx 75° f
Found basking on a rock next to a bush on an overcast day at about 69 degrees with some wind.
This lizard had grey and brown stripes running from head to tail ending at the base is its tail and neck as well as moving up the side of his face to about below his eyes.
It also has noticeable black spots and line pattern on its rear thighs.
Has very slight blue and yellow tint on ribs but a white underbelly unlike some other western fence lizards with very blue bellies.
Was found at a rest stop near colfax California at approx 10:30 am in a very vegetated area underneath a small log over dead plant debris. The pictures actually show 2 different sharp-tailed snakes they were both next to each other under the log. One was active and tried escaping deeper into the debris while the other just laid on top. The timid one was about 3 inches longer than the active one small one was about 8 In and larger one was about 11. Both of them had two vertical red bands along their body.
Invasive to US and damaging to agriculture, native to Eurasia. A spiny yellow thistle with several extra long brown spines at bottom of each bud.
