Looks like a Noctuid moth (Graphania sp.?) covered in a white fungus.
This was resting on the wall near an outside light during the middle of the day. (I've rotated the photograph 90° clockwise for ease of viewing.)

These chunky beetles on lemonwood flowers look like the same species as are all over the Cytisus scoparius flowers. (See this observation.)
Does anyone recognise them?
The narrow beetle species photographed here on the lemonwood was not on the broom flowers.
