Description

This snake was seen out at NATL, it was a warm day, and approaching dusk. It was seen on the edge of the boardwalk sunning itself, it did not move immediately but after 30 seconds or so it slithered off into the grass behind it. I believe it is this species because the area is a wetland, but also because of the slender snake like body, and banding pattern on its back which was very similar to one of the images that were under the suggestion water snake that the program provided, furthermore there was no rattle on it tail which eliminated similar looking rattle snakes from the possibilities.
