Scale insects on firebush plant. Most noticeable are the white scales, but there are some green scales on the stem.
On cultivated Tsuga canadensis
On magnolia tree
White fuzzy cases (3mm) with brown hairy bugs inside.
On crepe myrtle trees.
Seen alongside larger white fuzzy bugs with multiple segments and appendages. Edit: coccinellid larvae!
On Ficus aurea
Walking the old southern terminus of the Florida Trail for a bit. Water levels have dropped quickly over the last couple weeks and there were several dried up puddles with dead fish and shrimp in them.
