A small dung beetle found in dog faeces that is a new one for me. Bush setting with native wildlife inluding maropods, wombats and small mammals. No livestock, but cattle graze a paddock approx 500m away. I expect is may be one of the many native dung beetles.

Female dung beetle found in fresh cow dung. Identification made with assistance from ID guides from Dung Beetle Ecosystem Engineers website. Noting the SHINY black colour, studded with small dots (punctate), the front of the pronotum is rounded and there are two ridges on the head.
