Life species. I was driving down the road and I found him drinking from the river. I turned around and searched for him, thinking there was no way he was still around but then I spotted him in the rocks (first photo). I watched for about 2 minutes as he stared me down, then decided to move up and over the hill.
Went over to a few urban parks this morning in San Antonio. This first one was Woodlawn Lake Park -- quite a bit of trash covered the lake from the storm last night -- nonetheless, spotted a few birds! Also, saw more Egyptian geese here than I've ever seen before!!!
this vole took an accidental trip in my kayak hold compartment after it crept in while i was having lunch on a wetlands tour. that apple core was too tempting.
On my way over to get some lunch, I stopped at O.S. Gray Natural Area. Always see some cool critters here! :)
In Kentucky for the Wildlife Society Meeting! This morning I went to Falls of the Ohio State Park -- pretty cool floodplain area!
After lunch, I walked around this park next to the drying beds. Still a bit chilly outside, although the sun was out!

Went over to Tandy Hills a bit this afternoon -- always fun to do some bug-hunting here! :)
Had a lot of fun with folks at the pollinator garden at Brookhaven this evening! The new Master Naturalists had a project here, and they did a LOT of great work. We spotted a bunch of bugs this evening at the black-lights too.
