Eastern Hemlock (Tsuga canadensis)

Date

June 4, 2004

Description

This old-growth forest in the Big Basin area was dominated by Eastern Hemlocks (Tsuga canadensis). I think this was the drainage on the east side of Rt. ASP 1, but I doubt it looks like this now. Please comment if you know. (June 4th, 2004, from my Allegany Nature Pilgrimage archives, ref. # 1791-10, digital scan of a Fujichrome slide)
