Second male Brown-headed Cowbird foraging in a freshly mowed lawn in the southern portion of the town of Neskowin, Oregon. It looked like this Cowbird, like the others, was feeding mostly on grass seeds. This Cowbird spotted me taking photos from the condo balcony.

Sometimes you just step outta your vehicle and right in front of you is a great set of photos just waiting for you. This is what happened after we drove to the Two Rivers Peninsula Open Space Preserve along Highway 101 in coastal Oregon. There was this White-crowned Sparrow with a caterpillar in its beak wanting to feed its chicks in its nearby nest, but also trying to decide if we were a threat and not wanting to lead us to its nest, so it paused for about a minute on the walkway railing, and I was able to take a series of photos under perfect lighting conditions.
