Fruitbody 4.5 cm tall, 3.3 cm side to side, 3.8 cm front to back. Spores (21.8) 27.2 - 32.8 (33.2) x (9.7) 10.3 - 13.5 (14.3) µm, Q = (2.1) 2.3 - 2.9 (3.1), N = 25, Me = 29.8 x 11.8 µm, Qe = 2.5.
Spore deposit white. Taste immediately very acrid. Cap 4.5 - 8 cm across, viscid, cuticle peels off easily, up to 100% of the cap radius. Stipe 9.5 - 12 cm long x 11 - 21 mm thick at the apex. Larger fruitbodies are very fragile. Average spore size is 8.9 x 7.6 µm, partial reticulum up to 1 µm high. Growing in deep needle duff from shore pine.
Spore deposit cream to yellow. Cap 2.9 - 3.8 cm across, viscid when wet. Gills white to cream. Stipe 3.8 - 5.5 cm long x 8 - 14 mm thick, fragile. Taste mild. Odor not distinct. Spores 7.6 - 9 x 6.6 - 7.5 µm (excluding warts), warts forming partial reticulum to 0.7 µm high. Growing in Sitka Spruce forest. Used PNW Key.

Stipe 6 cm long x 2 - 2.3 cm thick, tapering downward, pale cream, discolors yellow-brown when scraped. Flesh is firm, dense. Gill cystidia present, narrowing at apex, 75 - 100 x 10 -15 µm. Spores (6.9) 7 - 8.7 (9.3) x (5.7) 5.9 - 6.8 (6.9) µm, Q = (1.1) 1.15 - 1.37 (1.4), with warts forming a partial reticulum up to 0.45 µm high. Growing under Sitka spruce. Note - One reference stated the gills fork, another stated that they don't. I observed that they did fork.

Growing in mossy area under Sitka spruce. Basidia 25 - 32.5 x 6.3 - 7.5 µm. Pleurocystidia absent. Cheilocystidia 45 - 55 (100) µm long x 5 - 7.5 µm wide at the apex. Spores slightly rough, dextrinoid (see last 2 spore pictures), (8.8) 9.2 - 10.6 (11.1) x (5.6) 6.1 - 7 (7.3) µm, Q = 1.43 - 1.6.
