Gregarious stalked sporangia 2-3.5 mm high. Sporotheca globose 0.9-1.2 mm diameter. Peridium membranous, iridescent with purple, blue, green and golden reflections. Columella reaches approximately the centre of the sporotheca, cylindrical, rounded at apex.
Found on large, bryophyte-covered eucalypt log. Common most years at Birralee.

Found on decaying log of Exocarpus cupressformis in wet eucalypt forest.
This species regularly appears on this log, usually after rain in summer or early autumn.

Scattered stalked sporangia 2-2.5 mm high. Sporothecae pyriform, red with pale yellow lines of dehiscence, 1.1-1.2 mm high x 0.9 mm diameter. Stalks grooved, red in the upper part grading to yellow at the base; some coalescing. Peridium of two layers, the outer layer red, the inner layer membranous, shiny, pale yellow. Elaters dull orange in mass, simple with long sometimes bifurcating ends, and decorated with spiral bands, 5 microns diameter. Spores dull orange in mass, pale by transmitted light, minutely warted, 9-11 microns.
