When I first saw this fish I thought it was a Western Mosquitofish. However, after I caught the fish it quickly became obvious this was a pupfish! I was really surprised by this because I found multiple pupfish in water that had been overflowing it’s original steam channels and there was only about an inch of sheet water running over the soil (see the last photos). These also must be Warm Springs Pupfish because the water source is from one of the few springs this subspecies is known from.
