Yes I know it is a snake and not a shrike, but it is our local shrike's larder along the fence line. Snake hung there from 11/24 through 11/28, but was no longer there the afternoon of 11/29.
Around the Aiken cemetery wrought iron fence perimeter - the only one I saw mostly intact after the Salado Highland Games piping competition in the public area surrounded by a split rail fence and chain link fence.
Indigofera on the other side of the fence of an overgrown pasture. More of a peach color bloom but unable to get closer for foliage shots in the leafy clutter. Thinking it may be miniata.
Decapitated small rodent impaled on branch stub of a young live oak tree, about 42 inches off the ground. There is a shrike that I see infrequently out of camera range. He/she often impales small rodents, frogs and insects on this live oak, and another live oak and a small cypress tree less than ¼ mile away.
