Light grey succulent growing in a cluster of ball shapes. Slightly fuzzy to the touch, holding residual moisture from the morning. Each ball as slight star shapes branching out as well as tiny white and yellow flowers growing in the pockets of fuzz. Located on steep mountain scree with large chunks of shale rock covering all of the landscape. Extremely exposed on an western aspect of roughly 45 degrees. Very few other plants located in the surrounding area besides pockets of grass sparsely populating the mountain side, some lichen, and other small succulents. Full sun, Beaufort 6, 5C.
Sloped area, roughly 15 degrees nw aspect. Mixed growth lenga forest with no midstory and sparse understory. Two plants pictured here - different coloration distinguishes them. Instructor Ben commented that he saw this yesterday with many purple stems. Didn’t see those here, but same plant. These plants appear healthy.
