I unfortunately didn't take any pix in the field, so these pix are all of my voucher.
Measurements from my voucher:
ann
st: 3.0 dm, including infl
lvs: cauline, 10 cm x 3 mm, flat.
infl: 7.5 cm, ~erect panicle, 3 branches at lowest node, single branches above, with a terminal spikelet.
spikelet 11-18 mm, florets 3
lower glume 7.0 mm, tapered acute tip
upper glume 11.5 mm, including 1.0 mm awn from extension of mid-vein, awn from ~truncate tip
lemma body 12.5 mm, tip 2 toothed plus awn from middle, teeth 1.5-3.0 mm, awn of 12.0 mm, curved away from the teeth and then abruptly bent once to become erect. Some of the awns are twisted near their base!

Native to South America, and debated whether native or introduced in North America, mostly in summer-dry climate zones on both continents. Populations in North America often seem well-integrated into the native vegetation and not invasive.
