Seeing a wild leopard gecko was extremely cool!
Identified as E. macularius as there are too many bands for E. fuscus (which should have two) and E. satpuraensis (which should have three).

Northern Flicker In A Snow Storm
I was thrilled to look out my window & see that my new yard bird was perched in my crepe myrtle close to me. She is beautiful & I got a good look at the yellow on the underside of her tail. The snow was coming down fairly heavy at this point.

Remembering Snowmageddon 2021
A year ago we had a weather event that began with snow and ice and dangerously low temps. Ended up with many, including myself, losing power for hours & enduring scary survival conditions. I'm still a bit traumatized. But there were some good things that came with the storm. Like this visit from a northern flicker. First one ever in my yard. So, trying to remember and focus on the beauty and positive things from a year ago.
