Another first if correct
Continuing-Mrs.O'Mally bringing in her 4 babies for the 1st time for their evening snacks! So cute she trusts me enough to do that! This is the first time that I can remember her having chicks, & certainly the first time she has brought them in for snacks!
This is our 'Buddy'...just stopped in for a quick hello, then took off again.
These two are obviously a pair...but they didn't have any babies.
We have more babies!!!!
Mrs.O'Mally & her 5 little ones!!
And yes...she cautiously brought them over to me! So trusting. I think this is the first time she has had babies. So nice that she trusts me enough to bring them in close. I can't wait to see them feeding! :)
This post is for Mama.Babies are separate
This post is for Mrs.O'Mally's 5 little ones!
Giving me the ole 'squinty' eye in the last frame.

Well we have at least 4 babies!
Mom/Dad keeping them well fed too!!
Mama waiting to feed her babies
Babies growing nicely!!
Took time out to do a little chugging in the last frame.
Nice to see him hammering away on a dead tree, instead of my cedars!! Must've been some really yummy critters in there...he totally ignored the dog that was right under the tree.
Not sure if these can be ID'd or not. This is all that was left. (Darn stray cat).
Another thank you feather from a friendly Turkey...So much nicer than the usual 'calling cards' I find in my yard!! lol :)
Here's 'Trusty Rusty' my ole mothing buddie up on the porch. First sighting this yr. His pudgyness is definitely getting slower...Obviously wintered well, though! :)
Mama's babies are growing fast....overflowing their nest. they will be fledgling soon, so won't be using my truck until they do.
Drake...and isn't he just gorgeous!! East Bay
Continuing-submitting for "Goofy Project" (And I totally love this one!!)
Continuing.... "Morning Workout"
I was delighted to finally see Mrs.Pied...quietly swimming in the reeds.....then I realized she has babies!!
This post is for the babies-it appears she has 2 riding for free on her back. I'm soooo happy!! Last year I had one male show up, (which was a first for here). This year I have a pair, & NOW for the 1st time in 23 yrs, we have babies!!! She has them in my north-east bay where they will be safe. :)
Taken from approx 100ft away...Note the Dragonfly on its' head in the last photo!!
Domestic....They were visiting a neighbour down the road...Most of the time they are right out on the road....So far I don't think too many have been hit!
Very serious business obviously! Totally ignored me.
No idea if this is the same one I photographed earlier in a totally different area of my very large yard!! They both appear to be freshly emerged, so it might be. Either way...sooooo good to see them again!! :)
This is the 2nd night these 6 have drifted over from the safety of my south/eastern bay, for feedings.
Not sure what this was all about...but cute!
Where's the dang dog.....
3 adults-3 juveniles, I'm assuming these are the goslings that hatched in my bay this yr(1st yr for this pair), & the only goslings to hatch/survive....something is happening to all the others. I suspect their eggs are being oiled. Any nests in my bay would be safe. Then the adults brought the juvies in for their 1st dinner at the 'All you can eat curb-side (er, shore side) cafe'...SOOOO sweet!!
Hello?? Anyone home?? Oh well, might as well have a nibble while I'm here....
Well it has taken over 20 yrs,but I FINALLY got a pic of this fella!!
(M)
(F) Post is for the duck-turtle submitted separately-
Maybe...First one I've seen up here, it was down by the road. It had already been knocked over, but something came back & ate it!
Haven't seen one this color before. He caught something in pic #2,couldn't see what it was. Man, was he fast!!
Mama sitting on her nest, (in the truck shelter!).
Proof I have more than one of these fellas!!!! :) (2)
My daylight morning wake up crew..... :) Checking for left over moths around the porch lights/bedroom windows....They love to perch on the top edge of my open windows!! (and picking off any moths still clinging to the screens!)
Good foraging on the ground beneath the grape vines!
(F)...Keeping a low profile!
This was obviously very serious business...Paid no attn to me whatsoever!! They don't usually dig around in my yard this early in the season.
(F)
Post is for the larger one...(Only noticed the smaller one after I uploaded pic)
"Stand Tall"......oh oh, she caught me, I'm outta here....
(On my deck railing again).
