I was working out in the park this morning when I saw three coyotes heading right in my direction. I couldn’t grab my phone (it was several yards away) because I didn’t want to scare them. A few minutes later, two passed right by me. When the coast was clear, I grabbed my phone and sure enough, the third followed shortly thereafter. She appeared to be a healthy female, who had given birth to pups at some point. I was over the moon by the whole thing!

One of the latest interlopers. A slew of new youngin's showed up and the olders are none too hapy. Here, doing its best meercat look-out, he watches for the bigger and olders that keep chasing him away. And then spies one.

Tree split in storm with high winds and a squirrel nest with 4 babies crashed into the street. Got them into a box with warm rice sock and played baby squirrel vocalizations from phone (per rehabber instruction) until Mama Squirrel came back to find the nest box. Happy to report she moved all 4 babies out of the box one by one, and all seemed to be alive and ok. Hope they’re ok in a new nest home somewhere nearby tonight!
