Hybrid of Bufo bufo x Bufotes viridis, photos taken 2000-2001. Garden pond with the presence of the two species.
It was a very small gravid female, 9 cm in length, found outside a small water pond at rather high altitude.
The phenotype seems to correspond to Salmo ghigii, a controversial endemic taxon of the eastern side of Apennines. See: http://www.cisba.eu/images/rivista/biologia_ambientale/BA2007-2_PESCI/14_Zerunian-Salmo_ghigi.pdf
Perhaps a sign of predation by wolves
