This was 30ftor so from a swamp. I think she was laying eggs. I know there's northern map turtles in this area, but the yellow markings didn't look similar enough for me to be confident. Does anyone know what species this is?

Description
This was a day after a snow storm and this morning the whole place wa covered in hoar frost. Early afternoon the sun (and birds) came out. This is my nextdoor neighbor's backyard. He spent the entire day working on his vehicle which is a few feet from this observation. He had left not long before -- wrapping it up for the day. I viewed this initially from indoors. My window is about 10 feet up and in-line with my own birdfeeders. Later I was able to sneak out the back door for some clearer shots. As with all raptors, I seem to witness them poo-ing! this one too. The boards it is on, is about 3 1/2 feet high, and behind it is some picket fencing materials. This is here all the sparrows, and juncos and others, roost, and is within feet of my feeders. The overhang is about 4 1/2 to 5 feet and built for gardening supplies and garbage containers. I feel like this was after a catch, and the poo suggests that it finished a meal and was getting ready to move on. It was just too low and cluttered an area for it to hunt.
