Description
Very old low res slide scan and date and location are approximate but I have those in old dive log and MLSSA's P.I. includes this one pic of what I've guessed is this species. Annoyingly, i do not think I've any later images of species despite always paying attention to threefins etc during dives and snorkels.Clearly this fish rests in a small lacy bryozoan, and I'm pretty sure it was under a jetty somewhere along SW Fleurieu, but not certain. Depth would've been less than 10 m, probably more like 5-6 m. Another thing: I cannot remember if it was a day or night dive but I've a niggling suspicion it was a night dive, possibly Rapid Bay jetty. If so(dive log review essential!) then that may explain my few if any encounters with species since. In my youth I did many jetty night dives, now I'd average 1/year!

Description
These were extremely fascinating to see in person! The fairy shrimp were highly abundant, traveling through the murky, algae-plentiful waters like ghastly jewels, gently swimming through with their tiny feet. These fairy shrimp were barely a half-inch long, and they were nearly completely transparent in color. These lived in this well-renowned Vernal Pool ecosystem.
