one of the best picture clicked by me. monitor lizard has catched the fresh baby may be of some frog,catched from burrow as some dust and pebbals are sticked on baby. eye is open.and the monitor lizard is near burrow.may be it is taking prey to burrow for its hatchling.please identify prey.

This is the holotype specimen, in Vienna, used by Fran Steindachner to name and describe the genus and species.I shoot the photo in July 1991.
Information given in the descriptions include: "terra typica, Borneo. WNM 1234567, adult,
mounted as seen in holotype illustration (Steindachner 1877a, 1878, Tafel 2); 42 cm total length, tail 22 cm. The specimen described here was brought by Mr Gröger from Sarawak".
First record of this rare monitor in Brunei. Further study ongoing.
