South Carolina Mushroom Project

Welcome to the South Carolina Mushroom Project. Please read the TERMS. Remember, identification of mushrooms by photo only does not always mean that your specimens will get an ID.

To increase the odds of getting an ID, please provide good photos of both the top and underside of the mushroom (in focus) in situ if possible and describe it in as much detail as possible. Other suggestions are listed in the TERMS.

I need help identifying a mushroom?

Posted by coxcharlie over 6 years ago

@coxcharlie did you add it to our Mushrooms of SC Project? Someone should respond.

Not sure how?

Posted by coxcharlie over 6 years ago

@coxcharlie - go to your observation and on the right side of the page you can select "add to project" and then one of our curators should be able to see it.

Hello everyone! I am new to foraging, currently living in Lexington, and just wanted to introduce myself. I see that there hasn’t been a comment posted in over 5 years… Is this still an active community?

@feeorfan, we have quite a few members and posts although the Facebook groups are quite a bit more active. I suggest Southeastern Mushroom Identification group.

Hi Folks - we are a Collection Project now! All South Carolina fungi and lichens will be added to the project automatically. Best wishes - Alan
