Megachile sculpturalis since 2021 also confirmed for Mallorca island (Spain)

M. sculpuralis was detected in several places on Mallorca in 2021. There was evidence so far in Portocolom, Inca. Palma de Mallorca, Alcúdia and Sóller.
It is assumed that the species was introduced in 2020 or earlier on Mallorca (in German language):

There is already a first observation at iNaturalist in Mallorca:

https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/88042591

This is likely to be the southernmost occurrence of M. sculpturalis in Europe

A little update: We've also found it in Manacor, Pollença, Consell, Santa Maria, Marratxí, Bunyola and Andratx.
It seems that this species is spreading quite fast in the island...

These are the observations sent to us by citizen scientists so far:

We encourage anyone (visiting or local) to record new observations of M. sculpturalis and send them to us through abellaresinera@gmail.com or (even better) uploading them to iNaturalist.
