Ever wonder about the wildlife and plants in Cape St. Claire and nearby Broadneck Park? Our location where the Magothy River meets the Chesapeake Bay gives us a unique perspective on suburban habitats in Maryland. This project can help us learn what other species share our neighborhood. Neighbors can interact with naturalists of all skill levels, and contribute to science with only a camera and computer.
All observations are welcome, including multiple sightings of one species throughout the neighborhood, as well as unidentified organisms (the community will help to ID!).
Observations must be in or from Cape St. Claire/Broadneck Park. If possible, add a simple description of where you saw the organism: lawn, freshwater pool, in Lake Claire, in Deep Creek, planted in flowerbed, etc. (If you are sure that the species was planted or an escaped "pet", please add a note in the species description.) Be sure to describe anything that isn't visible in the picture to help in ID'ing your observation.
Observations can be entered from the web at http://www.inaturalist.org/projects/cape-st-claire-broadneck-park. When adding using the web, please use the map to search for the approximate location: zoom in on map and double-click to add a marker at the exact location.
