Rev. Lee Payne is the Manager of Security, Minister, Spokes Person, Wildlife Management, and Ambassador at Cave Hill Cemetery and loves helping people learn about the history of the cemetery, wildlife, and coping with grief and loss. Also, he is an assistant pastor at Beargrass Missionary Baptist Church. He is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, where he majored in Environmental Health Science. Also, is a professional wildlife photographer. He currently lives in the beautiful city of Louisville. In addition to Cave Hill Cemetery, he is also involved in Louisville Audubon Society (Past President), Louisville Nature Center & Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve (Board Member), Beckham Bird Club Louisville (Board Member), Kentucky Fish & Wildlife, Raptor Rehabilitation of Kentucky, International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council (Rehabber), Louisville Tourism (Tour Guide), E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park, Kentucky Ornithological Society, The Kentucky Warbler, Wild Commonwealth Podcast, Gilda's Club Kentuckiana, Muhammad Ali Center, Association of The Louisville Orchestra, NAACP, Mayors Office Louisville Kentucky, and Mayors Office Richmond Kentucky. While security is his primary job function by day, Rev. Lee Payne also enjoys birdwatching, looking for owls, and spreading joy and laughter to people.
