I've always been involved with natural history - 12 years as photographer at London's Natural History Museum, 12 years in publishing illustrating, writing and editing natural history books, and 12 years managing nature reserves and designing interpretation for a wildlife organisation. Now retired and living in the Alto Alentejo region of Portugal where at least some of the ecosystems are more or less still intact, I can spend every day simply enjoying the abundant wildlife in my garden.
