This observation was taken in an area of Eucalyptus woodland, with tall, dry grass dominating the ground layer at the time of observations (July 2020).
This particular fire was started by lightning in November 2019, in the Main Range, to the south. The origin was in rainforest that had dried out during a prolonged period of low rainfall. The fire travelled north some kilometres, through national park and into the Glen Rock State Forest, travelling along hill tops, slopes and low areas.

This observation was taken along a narrow “track” running gently uphill, south-east of the Information Centre hut.
